Position Summary:
The Director of Children and Family Ministries will oversee and grow our children’s ministry (Preschool - 5th grade) and our family outreach programs. Together with the Children and Family Ministries Team, they will recruit, train, and encourage ministry leaders and volunteers. This person will plan engaging, Christ-centered programs and events to facilitate all aspects of faith formation ministry. Sunday mornings will include the Children’s Moment in weekly worship services and Children’s Sunday school. Ongoing weekday ministries and summer programming will be coordinated with the Children and Family Ministries Team. They will also develop and lead family-focused programs, events and activities throughout the year. In collaboration with church staff, they will integrate family ministry goals into the broader mission of the church.
Part-time applicants will be expected to lead and direct the ministry in coordination with the Children and Family Ministries Team, lead the weekly Children’s moment in Sunday worship services, teach and/or facilitate the Children’s Sunday school, and lead in the development and implementation of summer programming. This will be a hybrid role, with required Sunday hours, weekly/monthly staff and team meetings, and other self-directed hours as needed.
Full-time applicants will be expected to fulfill all of the part-time requirements, with the addition of further development of ministries. This may include the development of mid-week ministries, parenting studies, volunteer recruitment and training, and other ministries. Full-time employees will be expected to be present in the office during regular office hours unless otherwise fulfilling ministry tasks.
Qualifications:

- An associate’s degree or higher, preferably in an applicable field
- A well-developed Biblical and evangelical theology
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to recruit and empower volunteers
- Strategic Thinker-adaptable and innovative
- Ability to convey scripture and theology in an understandable way to children
- Creativity in developing ministries
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff
About us:
Resurrection Global Methodist Church is a growing congregation that features a diversity of ages and races. Our main service averages over 225 with an average of 20 children. In addition, our Hispanic service averages 65 in attendance. We are currently meeting at Katy High School and are looking to purchase land and begin building within the next year. We are a very supportive congregation which is active with a variety of local mission’s organizations, including Katy Christian Ministries and Christ Clinic. Our weekday offices are located at 722 Pin Oak Rd, Katy, Suite 206.
